Located at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, about 8 miles south of Aylesbury, Princes Risborough is a small town with a population of around 8,000. Dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, Princes Risborough was named as Hrisanbyrge in the 11th century Anglo-Saxon Chronicles (meaning "hill where brushwood grows"). It later became a Royal manor, and in the 14th century, came under the control of Edward the Black Prince. Princes Risborough was granted the right to hold a weekly market by Henry III.
