Known affectionately as simply "Wivey" by local residents, Wiveliscombe is a small town of around 3,000 inhabitants, located to the west of Taunton in Somerset. Possibly settled as long ago as the Iron Age, the Wiveliscombe area was certainly known to the Romans and Saxons.
The parish church of Wiveliscome is the St Andrew Church which was built in red sandstone in 1829, its font dates from the 14th century, as does the sandstone cross in the churchyard.
Wiveliscombe in Somerset is 11 miles from Taunton and can be accessed by road via the B3188 and the B3227.
