A seaside resort and fishing port situated on the River Gannel in Cornwall, Newquay has a population of around 19,000 and is a popular holiday destination with a beautiful coastline and plenty of fine sandy beaches. Often called "the Surfing Capital of Britain", Newquay has some of the best beaches and finest conditions for this ever popular sport.
To the north of Newquay is the popular Watergate Bay, with its 2 mile long sandy beach, it also attracts kite surfers, surfers and water sports enthusiasts.
Newquay is accessed from the A3058 and A3059, Newquay Cornwall Airport is situated to the north-east of the town, which is 16 miles from Truro.
