A handy base for visiting Skipton and for touring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Carleton is a pretty village with a population of around 1,000, it formerly had a cotton mill which operated in the mid-nineteenth century.

Carleton can be accessed via Carleton Road and Limehouse Lane from the A629, it is about 2 miles from Skipton, and 31 miles from Leeds.
